Second Capital Market Regulators' Forum

The 2nd Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Capital Market Regulators’ Forum concluded in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 1 November 2023. Co-hosted by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARDFM) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), this two-day event explored strategies to reshape the financial landscape within the CAREC region. Discussions covered a proposed Roadmap for the Forum, lessons from the Asian Bond Markets Initiative (ABMI), and the role of capital markets in climate finance. The Forum culminated in the announcement of regularization of the Forum and its renaming as the CAREC Regional Capital Markets Development Forum (CMDF), emphasizing its commitment to sustainable financial sector development in the region.
