The Caspian Link: Building Sustainable Bridges Across Eurasia—Powering the Caspian Green Energy Corridor from Source to Market: Stakeholders’ Roundtable Meeting
THIS MEETING IS BY INVITATION ONLY
The governments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan embarked on a transformative regional energy initiative with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 2 May 2024, marking the launch of the Caspian Green Energy Corridor Project. This pivotal project aims to enhance regional energy cooperation and lay the groundwork for seamless cross-border electricity trade. Through the establishment of an interconnected energy grid, the initiative will strengthen energy security, foster sustainable practices, and drive economic growth across the participating nations.
The project envisions a comprehensive ‘green corridor’ that will facilitate the transmission of renewable energy from the Caspian region to Europe via the Black Sea Cable, integrating both energy and fiber-optic communication infrastructure for enhanced connectivity.
One of the key milestones of this initiative—the formation of a Joint Venture and signing the Memorandum of Understanding with ADB and AIIB—will be a central focus of this event, underscoring the commitment of the involved nations to collaborative energy solutions.
This event aims to accelerate economic development and promote a future of shared prosperity in the CAREC region by fostering greater collaboration.
