CAREC Regional Gender Expert Group (RGEG) Annual Meeting 2023
The CAREC Regional Gender Expert Group (RGEG) Annual Meeting was held on 28-29 November in Tbilisi, Georgia, at the sidelines of the 22nd CAREC Ministerial Conference, with participation of gender experts from ten CAREC countries and representatives from development partners. RGEG members reviewed progress in implementing the CAREC Gender Strategy 2030 and discussed CAREC gender initiatives and concrete measures to advance gender mainstreaming in the region. The role of RGEG in guiding CAREC gender activities, and the importance of strengthening knowledge sharing in empowering women’s participation in wider economic activities across the region were highlighted. The meeting outlined the next strategic steps in implementing the CAREC Gender Workplan. This event marked a crucial juncture for refining and advancing gender-focused initiatives within the CAREC framework.
