Virtual Regional Workshop on Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Program - Enhancement and Sustainability
Over 40 participants including CAREC government officials, resource speakers from ADB, Korea Customs Service (KCS), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Secretariat (ASEAN), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), International Trade Center (ITC), and representatives from the private sector joined the Virtual Regional Workshop on the Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Program – Enhancement and Sustainability on 27-28 February 2024. The virtual Workshop provided the participants from CAREC member countries with the opportunity to benefit from a more dynamic AEO Program by developing and applying advanced compliance management systems in the implementation of the program. Among the topics discussed were information security policies, transportation risk management, engaging in mutual recognition arrangements (MRAs), AEO schemes for e-commerce actors, coordinated border management, and the use of technologies for data sharing management such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.
