CAREC Electricity Regulators Forum's Fourth Annual Meeting
The role of energy regulators has become more challenging with many developments in the energy sector from climate change to energy efficiency, and energy sustainability.
Thus, the theme of this year’s annual meeting covered these developments — Independent Regulation in the Promotion of Private Sector Participation, Energy Efficiency, and Renewable Energy.
The meeting consisted of a 2-day annual plenary session and a 3-day training workshop on public-private partnerships and regulators response to renewable energy and energy efficiency programs, and tariff-setting principles and practices.
This annual event, co-hosted by the State Department for Regulation of Energy and Fuel Complex of the Kyrgyz Republic and ADB, was attended by electricity regulators, international energy regulation experts, and representatives of public and private electricity companies.
