17th CAREC Ministerial Conference

This year’s ministerial conference focused on expanding regional trade and promoting economic diversification. CAREC ministers unanimously endorsed the CAREC Integrated Trade Agenda (CITA) 2030 and its Rolling Strategic Action Plan (RSAP) 2018–2030.

Consultation Meeting with CAREC National Focal Points (2018)

CAREC national focal points discussed the implementation progress of CAREC 2030, in preparation for the 17th Ministerial Conference on CAREC to be held in Ashgabat.

Third CAREC Energy Investment Forum

About 200 government officials, energy professionals, development partners, private investors, and technology providers joined the forum, which aimed to present and discuss a range of new energy technologies that could be quickly adopted in Central Asia.

CAREC Energy Sector Coordinating Committee Meeting (September 2018)

Updates on major regional projects and power trade activities were discussed. The Government of Georgia also organized a site visit to the Adjaristsqali Hydropower Project.

Senior government officials of the 11 CAREC countries and representatives of multilateral development partners reviewed the progress made to date on the implementation of the CAREC 2030 strategy.

CAREC Energy Sector Coordinating Committee Training on Forecasting with Argonne National Laboratory

The training featured theoretical lectures by experts on the importance and practical applications of energy forecasting and modelling. Delegates also experienced one-on-one instructional work sessions on using a software program as a tool for creating country profiles on the future of the energy sectors.

CAREC Energy Sector Coordinating Committee Meeting (March 2018)

CAREC's energy sector group, represented by about 60 delegates, discussed ongoing activities to develop the East-Central Asia-South Asia regional energy market, and the strategy and roadmap for high technology.
