CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (October 2009) Senior officials reviewed inputs for the 8th Ministerial Conference. Progress reports were presented on the Implementation Action Plan for the Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy, on the Trade Policy Strategic Action Plan, and on the Energy Action Plan.
Eighth CAREC Ministerial Conference Ministers endorsed two plans to advance regional cooperation in the energy, transport, and trade sectors: the Energy Action Plan Framework and the CAREC Program Results Framework.
11th CAREC Trade Policy Coordinating Committee Meeting Delegates discussed a questionnaire aimed at measuring progress in implementing the trade liberalization measures contemplated in the TPSAP, relevant issues for accessing the World Trade Organization in accordance to the World Bank's handbook, and an outline of a paper on institutional impediments to trade in CAREC countries.
