CAREC Webinar on E-Commerce and Paperless Trade

CAREC members agreed on the need to align their legislations with international standards for e-commerce development and underscored the role of cross-border connectivity and improved customs services.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) East Asia Department (EARD) Deputy Director General Teresa Kho, CAREC Institute Director Syed Shakeel Shah, and Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce Director Maryam Ghaznavi jointly welcomed over 120 participants. ADB Regional Cooperation and Integration Division (ERCI) Principal Economist Jong Woo Kang moderated and Public Management, Financial Sector, and Regional Cooperation Division (EAPF) Director Emma Fan shared concluding remarks.

The event was supported by KSTA 9712: Implementing the Integrated Trade Agenda in the CAREC Program, co-funded by the Regional Cooperation and Integration Fund and the PRC Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund.
