CAREC High-Level Veterinary Officials Visit to the People's Republic of China
Background
Building on the successful workshop on highly pathogenic avian influenza control technology in 2007, the study visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) of high-level veterinary officials aimed to enhance mutual understanding of prevention and control of animal diseases within CAREC.
The event would pave the way to establishing regular and training mechanism for veterinary personnel and developing major cooperation projects in the region.
Hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), delegates from CAREC participating countries visited Beijing, Qingdao, and Urumqi (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region) to increase their understanding of diagnostic techniques, research and development of vaccines and its production, veterinary drugs control, epidemiological investigation, vaccination policy, animal diseases monitoring and early-warning system, and administration system for prevention and control of animal diseases of the PRC.
