Liberalizing Services and Promoting Digital Services: Prospects for Enhancing Trade in CAREC Countries
Webinar discusses challenges and priorities in enhancing CAREC services trade. EARD DG M. Teresa Kho, in her opening remarks at the RCI-POD webinar on 15 March, underscored the need for deregulation and digital transformation to promote services development, expand trade, and foster economic diversification in CAREC countries. EAPF Director Emma Fan and CWRC Director Lyaziza Sabyrova shared views on opportunities for regional cooperation and perspectives to achieve CITA 2030. ERCI’s Jong Woo Kang moderated the session with presentations from former WTO Chief Economist Patrick Low, ADB consultant Bahodir Ganiev, ERCI’s Rolando Avendano, and OECD’s Irene Olivan.
