CAREC Forum – Macroeconomic Policies for Economic and Financial Stability: Lessons from Countercyclical Responses to Economic Crisis
Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank, organized a Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Forum in Astana to discuss lessons learned from the experience of implementing countercyclical policies in response to external economic shock.
ADB Vice-President Wencai Zhang addressed the forum along with IMF Deputy Managing Director Tao Zhang and World Bank Regional Director Lilia Burunciuc.
ADB Central and West Asia Department Director General Werner Liepach moderated the discussions. High-level officials from central banks, and ministries of finance and economy of CAREC countries attended the forum.
