CAREC 2020 National Workshop: Turkmenistan

Government officials from the following ministries — Economy and Development, Railway Transport, Energy and Industry, Finance, and Trade and Foreign Economic Relations — attended Turkmenistan’s National Workshop on CAREC 2020. Participants were

• provided with an overview of the CAREC Program and its CAREC 2020 strategic framework;
• informed about the CAREC dimensions of Turkmenistan’s national development programs in the sectors of transport, trade facilitation, energy, and trade policy;
• briefed on the list of medium-term priority projects; and
• shown the regional cooperation aspects of the proposed ADB interim country partnership strategy for Turkmenistan.

The workshop was opened by Turkmenistan’s Economy and Development Minister and CAREC National Focal Point Mr. Byashimmurat Hojamammedov, and was closed by Institute of Strategy Planning and Economic Development Director Mr. Mukhammetgeldi Atayev. ADB Resident Representative Mr. Plamen Bozakov gave the workshop overview.
