CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (April 2005) Participants reviewed the progress made since the Third Ministerial Conference on CAREC held in Astana, Kazakhstan on November 2004 and the work plans for the four priority sectors: transport, trade facilitation, trade policy, and energy.
Third CAREC Ministerial Conference High-level government delegations representing the CAREC member countries—Azerbaijan, the People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan—attended the conference.
CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (September 2004) Participants (i) discussed the progress made since the Second Ministerial Conference on CAREC held in November 2003 in Tashkent; (ii) reported on the sector outcomes in each of the priority areas of energy, trade facilitation, trade policy, and transport; (iii) made recommendations on certain issues for ministerial consideration and guidance; and (iv) discussed preparations for the Third Ministerial Conference.
CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (April 2004) Participants discussed (i) the progress made since the Second Ministerial Conference on CAREC in each of the priority areas of energy, trade facilitation, and transport; (ii) ways of strengthening the overall institutional framework, including the establishment of a sector coordinating committee for trade policy; and (iii) preparations for the Third Ministerial Conference on CAREC scheduled in the fourth quarter of this year.
Second CAREC Ministerial Conference Under the established Overall Institutional Framework (OIF), this high-level conference reviewed the progress in regional cooperation activities since the First Ministerial Conference on CAREC held on March 2002. It also sought to provide guidance and direction to the OIF and its future activities.
Regional Preparatory Meeting on CAREC The Regional Preparatory Meeting was a key step in the preparation of the coming Second Ministerial Conference on CAREC to be held in the same venue on 11-12 November 2003. Senior officials from member countries of the regional cooperation program and observers from invited multilateral institutions participated in the meeting.
National Focal Point Meeting on CAREC Program The objectives of the meeting were to report on the progress made since the Ministerial Conference in March 2002, and on future work plan for which guidance from the national focal points (NFPs) will be sought.
First CAREC Ministerial Conference The conference sought to provide guidance in prioritizing regional investment needs and in effectively mobilizing resources to finance them. It also provided a unique opportunity for concerned countries and donor agencies to discuss areas for better coordination as well as to explore new prospects for cooperation in the context of the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting (August 2001) More specifically, the participants discussed and confirmed (i) the priority areas ADB should concentrate on in facilitating regional cooperation, (ii) the institutional framework that would best serve implementation of the ADB program, and (iii) preparations for a Ministerial Conference scheduled 5–9 November 2001 in Urumqi, People's Republic of China.
