Third CAREC Transport Sector Coordinating Committee Meeting

The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted the meting with the support of the Asian Development Bank.

The meeting brought together government officials from member countries of the CAREC Program, including Azerbaijan, the People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Representatives from multilateral institutions (European Bank for Development and Reconstruction, Islamic Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank) participated in the meeting.

Participants reviewed and endorsed the Regional Transport Sector Roadmap and Transport Sector Coordinating Committee Meeting work plan for 2005. In particular, the meeting discussed and endorsed proposals for harmonization of cross-border transport procedures and documents among the CAREC member countries.
