20th CAREC Trade Policy Coordinating Committee Meeting

Representatives from CAREC member countries and multilateral development partners (i) discussed progress made and challenges met in the implementation of the Trade Policy Strategic Action Plan (TPSAP) 2013–2017; (ii) discussed latest developments in the World Trade Organization training workshops; and (iii) reviewed the Trade Policy Sector Progress Report, which will be presented in the midyear CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting.

Presentations by the International Monetary Fund and Asian Development Bank (ADB) summarizes the policy action matrix of the updated TPSAP and discuss the refined methodology of the CAREC Development Effectiveness Review.

The World Bank presented recent analytical work in the area of non-tariff measures and review latest developments and analytical tools in the area of trade in services. ADB also presented a recent study entitled “Movement of People in the CAREC Region: Business Travel and Tourism Development.”
