CAREC National Consultation Workshop (Tajikistan)

Senior government officials from various ministries, agencies, and state companies; heads and officers of multilateral and bilateral development organizations; and media representatives attended the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program’s national consultation workshop in Tajikistan.

Speakers provided updates on and participants discussed the progress of the CAREC Program’s priority sectors—transport, energy, trade policy, and trade facilitation.

The workshop served as a venue to exchange views on current and emerging issues in Tajikistan, including updates on the status of the CAREC Cross-Border Transport Agreement.

A meeting was also held with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to discuss the proposed ADB technical assistance on Strengthening Tajikistan’s Trade and Investment Regime.

The workshop was jointly organized by ADB and the CAREC National Focal Point for Tajikistan.
