Knowledge-Sharing Module on CAREC Trade: Facilitating Trade Through Digital SPS Certification

ADB, CAREC Institute discuss study on e-SPS readiness in CAREC countries

On 24 February 2021, ADB and CAREC Institute generated the second series of CAREC Trade’s knowledge-sharing modules focusing on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures. WTO Secretariat shared how ePhyto solutions facilitate trade through electronic certification. EAPF Director Emma Fan underscored digitalization’s important role in trade, food safety and agricultural value chains. E-SPS will enhance CAREC agri-food products’ global market access and traceability to help lower risks of spread of transboundary pests and diseases. Modernizing SPS measures is a priority under the CAREC Integrated Trade Agenda 2030.
