International Trade and Investment Conference
The conference raised awareness on business opportunities in Tajikistan after its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Conference participants
- assessed Tajikistan’s progress in implementing trade reforms and multilateral, regional, and unilateral approaches to further liberalize trade and investment;
- provided a forum for public-private dialogue concerning this assessment; and
- prioritized technical assistance that will enable the Government of Tajikistan to implement the WTO’s recent trade facilitation agreement, improve Tajikistan’s investment climate, and overcome obstacles to exports.
Representatives from the private sector, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, discussed how they can adjust to economic reforms implemented by the Government of Tajikistan following WTO membership.
