CAREC Consultative Meeting on Regional Joint Transport and Trade Facilitation Committee

The meeting discussed the goals, scope of work, terms of reference, organizational structure, and results framework of the proposed regional joint transport and trade facilitation committee (RJC).

Participants recognized the need for an RJC and supported its establishment. They also reviewed proposals on the mandate of the RJC, and preparatory work undertaken to establish the RJC.

The meeting agreed each country would examine relevant issues internally and designate representatives to the RJC by 15 December 2009. The First RJC Meeting will be convened in the first quarter of 2010.
