The meeting aimed to train customs and other border control agencies in Mongolia on the use of time release study (TRS) to identify constraints on the flow of goods at border-crossing points and eliminate trade barriers.

Representatives from the World Customs Organization shared knowledge and best practices on TRS.

TRS provides a snapshot of the effectiveness of customs administrative procedures and measures the actual time it takes to release goods after arrival.

TRS informs the design of investments at border-crossing points, helps interpret trade-related data compiled by national single-window facilities, and provides a useful point of reference in analyzing CAREC Corridor Performance Measurement and Monitoring data submissions and reports.

Participants also visited the terminal of the Ulaanbaatar Customhouse.
