CAREC Consultation Workshop on Cross-Border Transport Facilitation (Tajikistan)

ADB met with government officials, private sector representatives, and development partners at Tajikistan’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT).

ADB presented new regional technical assistance projects on cross-border transport facilitation in the CAREC region and invited participants to give their feedback on the new technical assistance project action plan.

Discussions focused on the CAREC Cross-Border Transport Agreement (CBTA) and challenges of cross-border transport along CAREC Corridor 5.

The meeting was co-chaired by Negmatjon Buriev, deputy minister of MEDT and CAREC national focal point, and CWRD’s Oleg Samukhin, regional cooperation specialist.
