Tajikistan: Inception and Consultation Mission 2019
An inception mission for a CAREC economic corridor TA, financed by PRCF, and led by CWRC’s Guoliang Wu, visited the cities of Dushanbe and Khujand in Tajikistan on 24-28 May to discuss regional economic corridor development potentials and challenges among Shymkent (Kazakhstan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Khujand cities and their surrounding regions. The team met with the Tajikistan Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) Minister Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, Governor of Sughd region Rajjabboi Ahmadzoda, and Mayor of Khujand city Maruf Muhammadzoda. Tajikistan Deputy Minister of MEDT Gulru Jabborzoda and TJRM Country Director Pradeep Srivastava opened a workshop with 40 participants from government agencies, private sector associations and development partners in attendance.
