Special Economic Zone and Industrial Zone Development Forums

Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized forums on special economic zone (SEZ) and industrial zone development on 22 June in the Kyrgyz Republic, and on 28-29 June in Kazakhstan.

Kyrgyz Republic Deputy Minister of Economy Almaz Sazbakov and ADB Kyrgyz Republic Resident Mission’s Maria Paniagua opened the event in Bishkek.

In Astana, Kazakhstan Vice-Minister for Investment and Development Yerlan Khairov and ADB KARM’s Asel Chyngysheva opened the forum.

The forums brought together 170 participants from the government, special economic zone management companies, think-tanks, private sector, and development partners. They discussed ADB’s diagnostic studies for SEZ and industrial zone development in both countries.
