Transport Network Development Investment Program, Tranche 2

Summary

The second tranche of the program will upgrade more than 180 kilometers of roads and include community development and security plans. It will also provide capacity building for the country’s Ministry of Public Works  and support implementation of the investment program and project management.

Expected Outcome

The subprojects will help improve the economy of southern Afghanistan and regional trade with the completion of CAREC Corridors 5 and 6.

Expected Outputs

  • 188 kilometers Sapary–Jalalabad, Sharan–Angoor Ada, and Chan-e-Anjir–Gereshk sections) of reconstructed, rehabilitated, and appropriately maintained national and regional highways.
  • Strengthened capacity of the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Works.
