Rural Electrification Project

Summary

The Tajikistan Rural Electrification Project will finance the construction of electricity generation and distribution infrastructure to provide off-grid solutions or connect to the central grid vulnerable communities in Tajikistan’s eastern Gorno–Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) and southern Khatlon region. The project will support additional studies required for the construction of the Sebzor Hydro Power Plant (HPP), located in GBAO

Expected Outcome

Ensure access to electricity for vulnerable communities in Tajikistan’s remotest regions along the western foothills of the Himalayas
