Road Reconstruction and Upgrading Project

Summary

The project was originally approved in 2011 and provided a loan to the Republic of Azerbaijan for upgrading of sections of roads by the Azeri Roads Service (now renamed Azeravtoyol). Disbursement of the funds is allocated in two tranches: both tranches involved resurfacing and upgrading of existing two lane corridors in largely rural areas. The total length of these roads is around 130 kilometers  and the project involves upgrading an existing two lane single carriageway road to a dual two-lane carriageway standard.

Expected Outcome

The key objective of the project is to contribute to the upgrading of the key regional and international road connections to facilitate economic growth.
