Regional Power Interconnection Project
Summary
The Regional Power Interconnection Project will address electric supply needs in Afghanistan and electric infrastructure development and export plans in Turkmenistan. The technical assistance will prepare the project for consideration by Asian Development Bank and other financiers.
Expected Outcome
In both Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, the outcome will be increased utility commercialization through the application of a long-term power purchase and sales agreement. The impact will be increased regional cooperation and optimized use of regional energy resources.
