The TA was to formulate a regional project suitable for ADB financing to improve the gas transmission network in the Central Asia Republics (CARs) to facilitate access to modern energy by the rural poor, regional major cities, and commercial centers.
The outcome of the TA was to promote sustained economic growth through regional cooperation in the CARs by developing a strategy to eliminate technical and institutional bottlenecks and other barriers that constrain the efficient operation and flow of natural gas, prevent energy trade, and impede rational use of transmission systems linking them.
