Preparing Sustainable Energy Projects in Central Asia

Summary

The regional transaction technical assistance (TA) facility will provide project preparation support to a series of ensuing projects in Central Asia: (i) Power Distribution Enhancement, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Projects in the Kyrgyz Republic; and (ii) Power Sector Development Program in the Republic of Tajikistan. In addition, the TA Facility will provide high-level screening, due diligence and formulation of the components for the Sector Development Project in Kazakhstan

Expected Outcome

The proposed ADB intervention intends to address various sector issues including refurbishment of the power generations, construction of new transmission assets, energy efficiency, renewable energy generation and introduction of modern technologies.
