National Trade Corridor Highway Investment Program, Tranche 2

Summary

The project will develop the Hasanabdal–Havellian Expressway to link the northern area of the country to the existing expressway network and lead to better connectivity with Afghanistan, the People’s Republic of China, and other central Asian countries. The expressway is part of a national trade corridor and will connect existing M1 at Hasanabadal to Havellian, and will further extend to Abbotabad and Mansehra to north.    

Expected Outcome

The project will improve regional network for movement of goods and people along the E35 expressway.

Expected Outputs

• Expressway connecting Hassanabdal and Sarai Saleh constructed.
• Operational National Highway Authority's institutional capacity in social safeguards improved.
