KEGOC: Ekibastuz–YukGres Power Transmission

Summary

The project covers the

• second section of the 475-kilometer (km), 500-kilovolt (kV) overhead transmission line from 1,150 kV Ekibastuzskaya substation to 500 kV Agadyr substation, with extension of 500 kV outdoor switchgear at 1,150 kV Ekibastuzskaya substation and 500 kV outdoor switchgear at Agadyr substation; and
• third section of the 390 km, 500 kV overhead transmission line from 500 kV Agadyr substation to 500 kV YuKGRES substation, with extension to connections to 500 kV outdoor switchgear at 500 kV Agadyr substation, and to 500 kV outdoor switchgear at 500 kV YuKGRES substation.

Expected Outcome

The project will promote competition and trade both on national and regional levels by facilitating low-cost producers in North Kazakhstan to supply South Kazakhstan and the Central Asia integrated system.

Expected Outputs

• Second section of the 475 km overhead transmission line from Ekibastuzskaya substation to Agadyr substation constructed.
• Third section of the 390 km overhead transmission line from Agadyr substation to YukGRES substation constructed.
