Greater Silk Road Initiative 2006

Summary

The goal of this umbrella regional technical assistance (RETA) is to promote regional economic cooperation in Central Asia. The RETA includes support for high-level policy and sector-related meetings among CAREC participating countries and their development partners.

Expected Outcome

The expected outcome was a strengthened overall institutional framework to support further progress and tangible results of the CAREC Program.

Expected Outputs

The outcome was to be achieved through the following outputs:

• policy and strategic guidance provided by the Ministerial Conference  and Senior Official Meetings for deepening and advancing the CAREC Program;
• program and analytical works on regional cooperation, including a comprehensive action plan and performance indicators;
• engagement of the private sector by the CAREC Program; and
• dissemination of knowledge and information on CAREC activities.
