Emergency Customs Modernization and Trade Facilitation Project

Summary

The project aims to improve key customs and transit-related infrastructure and communications, improve the capacity for customs and transit administration, and improve local tax administration.

Expected Outcome

The project will promote better transit of goods and services and strengthen capacity of customs agencies in Afghanistan by establishing a more efficient customs and transit regime, improving collecting capacity of the Afghan Customs Department, reducing trade transaction costs, and implementing appropriate measures to facilitate international trade.
