The proposed project will reconstruct about 300 kilometer (km) road section between the capitals and administration centers of Aktobe and Artyrau Provinces in western Kazakhstan and rehabilitate about 135km connector road between Mukur and Kulsary, and introduce key features of intelligent transport system.
Reconstruction of the Aktobe- Makat road will promote inclusive economic growth and regional trade, and generate positive spillover effect on opening up new trade and business opportunities given the capital cities of Aktobe and Atyrau are economic hubs in their respective provinces, and also the road corridor's regional significance being at the junction of CAREC corridors 1b and 6b.
