CAREC Corridor 3 (Shymkent–Tashkent Section) Road Improvement Project
Summary
The project will rehabilitate a 37 kilometer four-lane road section in Kazakhstan, a part of the road connecting Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and Shymkent, one of the major industrial cities in Kazakhstan. The project road will start from Shymkent, a junction of CAREC Corridors 1 and 3, and is expected to extend benefits of the ongoing ADB-financed improvement works. In addition, commodities' trade network will be enhanced from/to Shymkent because various manufacturing industries are active in Shymkent.
Expected Outcome
The project will improve efficiency of transport networks in South Kazakhstan. It will also contribute to closer regional cooperation and increased trade along CAREC Corridor 3.
Expected Outputs
