CAREC Corridor 2 (Mangystau Oblast Section) Investment Program, Tranche 2

Summary

CAREC Corridor 2 connects the Caucasus and Mediterranean to East Asia via Central Asian countries. The investment program targets Kazakhstan's Mangystau Oblast sections of the corridor. The second project of the investment program will reconstruct an 86.7-kilometer (km) road section between the cities of Shetpe and Zhetybay, and an 83-km section between Zhetybay and the provincial capital, Aktau.

Expected Outcome

The project aims to increase transport connectivity and efficiency in the Mangystau sections of the CAREC Corridor 2.

Expected Outputs

• 86.7-km road section connecting Shetpe and Zhetybay reconstructed.
• 83-km road section between Zhetybay and Aktau rebuilt.
• Improved construction supervision.
