Capacity Building Support to the Ministry of Economic Development to Develop a Competitive Non-Oil Sector in Azerbaijan

Summary

The project involves

• strengthening the research capacity of the Institute of Scientific Research for Economic Reforms (ISRER) and assisting the Institute in becoming an effective think tank for economic policy in Government,
• converting economic research into policy development and implementation, and
• assisting in the formulation of new policies to facilitate and encourage the development of a competitive non-oil sector in Azerbaijan.

Expected Outcome

The project helps Azerbaijan diversify its economy by facilitating the growth of a globally competitive private non-oil sector.

Expected Outputs

• Research capacity of ISRER strengthened
• Study reports launched
