Afghanistan Diagnostic Trade Integration Study

Summary

A diagnostic trade integration study (DTIS) evaluates internal and external constraints on a country’s integration into the world economy, and recommends areas where technical assistance and policy actions can help the country overcome these barriers. Afghanistan started work on the DTIS with the World Bank as the main implementing agency.

Expected Outcome

The (DTIS) report is intended to identify concrete policy actions in three areas of endeavor: lowering the transaction costs of trade, increasing Afghanistan's competitiveness in world markets, and providing an analytical foundation for Afghanistan's national trade strategy.
