CAREC High-Level Policy Dialogue on Social Spending to Tackle Rising post-COVID-19 Inequality
A high-level virtual panel discussing Social Spending to Tackle Rising post-COVID-19 Inequality was held on 22 November, attended by ministers, deputy ministers, central bank governors and senior officials from CAREC member countries. CWRD DG Yevgeniy Zhukov, WB Regional Director in the Central Asia region Tatiana Proskuryakova and IMF Director in the Middle East and Central Asia department Jihad Azour gave keynote statements. Panelists from CAREC countries and development partners provided their views on social spending measures in the context of the broader COVID-19 crisis response and macroeconomic policies. This is the second event in a series of high-level policy dialogues on important economic and financial stability issues in CAREC member countries.
