Virtual CAREC Workshops for CAREC Related Agencies in Pakistan
A series of workshops were conducted between 8th and 24th February 2022 for CAREC related government agencies in Pakistan as part of the ongoing Virtual CAREC initiative. The workshops attended over 80 officials, almost half of whom were women, from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, Universal Service Fund, Pakistan Software Export Board, and the Virtual University.

Girls Represented 41% of the Participants in the International Programming Olympiad in Kyrgyzstan
More than 50,000 young students from 57 countries competed on February 19th, 2022 for a $10,000 prize at the International Programming Olympiad "BalaTech" in Kyrgyzstan. Girls represented 41% of the participants, a far higher rate than any other international programming competition encouraging more girls to learn programming and tackle the increasing digital divide.

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) Met about 100 Technology Companies Regarding the Digital Lari Project 
According to Mr. Papuna Lezhava, Vice President of Georgia's National Bank, the NBG met about 100 technology companies interested to participate in the introduction of “digital GEL” project that is about issuing the national digital currency; work on a pilot project will begin later this year after.
