Digital Silk Way project to open up new opportunities in the region
The involvement of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in the implementation of the Digital Silk Way project was discussed at the 5th meeting of the OTS Working Group on ICT in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on October 25. According to Fuad Allahverdiyev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AzerTelecom, this large-scale project will make a significant contribution to meeting the demand for internet traffic in Central Asian countries.

China to redouble its efforts to develop the digital economy
According to the State Council’s report, over the past decade, China’s digital economy has witnessed remarkable development. The country has so far signed the Digital Silk Road memorandums of understanding for cooperation with 16 countries and advanced the Silk Road E-commerce bilateral cooperation mechanism with 24 countries. However, the report pointed out that there is still room for improvement in the sector’s strength and quality.

ITEC Global Entrepreneurship Competition is now seeking startups globally to join. The Overseas division tracks are based on regions and sub-regions, including North America, Europe, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, or others. The competition focuses on attracting high-quality, innovative, and entrepreneurial projects and talents from all around the world.

TikTok to open educational center for Kazakh startups
As Astana Hub reported, a popular video hosting platform TikTok and AstanaHub digital technopark will jointly launch a TikTok StartUp Academy, an educational project for Kazakh startups. 300 startups will have access to the TikTok for Business webinars, and the first 20 to pass the exams will attend offline workshops in Astana.

Startup Georgia launched Agritech/Foodtech/Biotech Acceleration Program
Startup Georgia launched an acceleration program with the focus on female startup founders and youth. Program consists of 13 weeks of the intense education process focused on helping founders to become investment ready. Startups will showcase their progress on the Demo day in Tbilisi on 3rd of December.

Pakistan’s 3 startups qualified for the Supernova pitching competition at GITEX
Multiple startups from different National Incubation Centers have participated with Ignite National Technology Fund in the GITEX exhibition in Dubai, attracting a large number of visitors from across the world. Three startups qualified for the Supernova pitching competition at GITEX. GITEX is the largest technology event in the Middle East, which has attracted more than 100,000 visitors from more than 170 countries this year.
