CAREC – USAID Future Growth Initiative Webinar Series: "Towards a Central Asian E-Commerce Market"

This 3-day event series, co-hosted by USAID's Future Growth Initiative and the Asian Development Bank under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, aims to catalyze discussion among regional and international public and private sector actors, who will be invited to share their ideas which would contribute to the development of a Central Asian regional e-commerce market. Registration to attend on May 12, 19 and 31 at 2 pm Almaty time.

CAREC Startup University Generator is Live Now
|

The CAREC University Startup Generator organized as part of the CAREC Digital Month is live. Sign-ups from university students in the CAREC region have been accepted. The challenge, hosted on the ADB Challenges platform, supports students to develop their startup ideas that can improve issues in key areas (agriculture, education, environment, finance, and health). The initiative is organized by the CAREC Secretariat and is supported by the Asian Development Bank and Republic of Korea e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund.

Report of Mongolian Startup Ecosystem Survey is Published
|
|
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mongolia office conducted the "Data Collection Survey for Mongolian Startup Ecosystem Survey" from January to March 2022 for the purpose of making effective synergies among stakeholders. In the survey, the information on the Mongolian startup ecosystem was collected and analyzed through interviews - the future suggestions for the Mongolian startup ecosystem were proposed. Uzbekistan IT Park is Accepting Applications for the Tumaris Hack Central Asian Hackathon

Tumaris.Hack is an online competition for female developers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan aiming to support girls in IT. During 2 days participants with the support of specialists will be creating prototypes of products that solve socio-economic problems in four directions: FinTech, E-commerce, DeepTech, and Wonder Women. Tashkent Hosts the International PLUS-Forum Uzbekistan 2022: Banks and Retail Digital Transformation and Synergy

On May 25-26, 2022 Tashkent will become a platform for global PLUS-Forum on banks and retail, digital transformation, and synergy with IT Park being its associate partner. The forum focuses on giving further impetus to Uzbekistan’s economic development, facilitating Uzbek-Russian and international cooperation in banking and financial technology, More about the forum.

Georgia hosted Startup Central Eurasia Summit on 14-15 April 2022
|

The Startup Central Eurasia Summit was held in a hybrid format – online and in-person – on 14-15 April 2022 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Participants learned about the opportunities for IT companies to enter the Silicon Valley market, received email sales training for start-ups, and participated in networking sessions with leading IT and innovation organizations from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Challenges of Central Asia startup ecosystems were also discussed during the summit.

Bishkek Hosted the First Forum on Blockchain Technology Digital Literacy 3.0

The first large-scale forum on blockchain technology Digital Literacy 3.0 was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The participants discussed such topics as the use of blockchain in business, new Kyrgyz and international cases, blockchain in the banking sector, the impact of the introduction of blockchain technologies on the labor market, mining and renewable energy sources, and new realities of the digital world.
