CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program, Tranche 2

Summary

Tranche 2 of the program will finance the rehabilitation of about 85 kilometers of the A380 highway, which forms part of the CAREC Corridor 2. It will also improve road planning.

Expected Outcome

The investment program will have an impact on Uzbekistan's sustainable economic development, with better transport connectivity and efficiency, and institutional effectiveness.

Expected Outputs

• As of 31 December 2016, the civil works contractor substantially completed all major physical works and the taking-over certificate inspection was conducted on 22 November 2016. The remaining works including 12 km of shoulder fill, minor pavement markings and installation of road signs were completed in December 2016.
• Boring equipment procured and delivered to Uzbekistan in 2012 and commissioned in 2013.
