Subregional Country Consultation Meeting on the CAREC Institute Assessment and Work Plan (People’s Republic of China) National focal points of Azerbaijan, the PRC, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan attended the consultation meeting to discuss and revise drafts of the CAREC Institute assessment; and the CAREC Institute work plan for 2013-2014, and indicative work plan for 2015-2017.
Workshop on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures The 2-day workshop focused on information exchange and initial steps to develop a sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) action plan of future regional cooperation activities in CAREC to address key SPS concerns that hinder the smooth flow of goods and people in the CAREC region.
Third Seminar on World Trade Organization Accession: Managing WTO Accession Process – Strategies, Challenges, and Practices The seminar encouraged interaction among trade officials of WTO CAREC countries (People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, and Pakistan) and non-WTO CAREC countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan).
International Energy Agency Caspian Energy Policy Dialogue and Training The event engaged Caspian countries in discussing perspectives on energy technology, delivering energy-training modules, and sharing best practices in energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Training on Customs Intelligence The Asian Development Bank and the General Administration of China Customs, through the Shanghai Customs College, will co-sponsor a training workshop on customs intelligence, covering customs information systems and e-port development.
