CAREC Corridors 1 and 6 Connector Road (Aktobe–Makat) Reconstruction Project The Asian Development Bank is working with Kazakhstan to help modernize ithe country's transport system. Improved transport connectivity will help increase trade links between Kazakhstan and the markets in East Asia, the Caspian Sea region, and further to Europe.
Preparation of CAREC Corridors 5 and 6 (Salang Corridor) Project The proposed project will assist the Government of Afghanistan in preparing the CAREC Corridors 5 and 6 (Salang Corridor) Project.
National Motorway M-4 Gojra–Shorkot–Khanewal Section Project, Additional Financing The additional financing will support an increase in the scope of the current project by constructing a 64-kilometer (km) four-lane, access-controlled motorway connecting Shorkot and Khanewal in Punjab Province, which is the last missing section of the national motorway M-4 to be constructed.
Second CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program, Tranche 3 The project will improve travel efficiency on the reconstructed A-380 highway section near Bukhara, which is part of CAREC Corridor 2 connecting Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
National Motorway M-4 Gojra–Shorkot Section Project The proposed project will construct a 62-kilometer (km) four-lane, access-controlled motorway connecting Gojra and Shorkot in Punjab Province.
Pap–Angren Railway The project will reduce transport costs and increase transport capacity and reliability through the construction of a rail link between the Uzbek part of the Ferghana Valley and the rest of Uzbekistan.
Olzha Phase III Loan The project extends a secured loan to JSC Olzha, a private operator of freight wagons in Kazakhstan, to acquire new freight railcars.
Astana Airport Rehabilitation The project will finance the rehabilitation of the runway, taxiways, and apron, and upgrade of lighting navigational aids at Astana Airport as part of the airport modernization project.
Transport Network Development Investment Program, Tranche 4 Tranche 4 will reconstruct the remaining 108-kilometer gap from Beharak to Eshkashim in the northeastern corridor, which starts at city of Kunduz and connects to the border-crossing point with Tajikistan at Eshkashim.
CAREC Transport Corridor 1 (Bishkek–Torugart Road) Project 3, Additional Financing The additional financing is for a project that is improving the last 60 kilometers of this transport corridor. The project will contribute to fostering regional trade between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, and higher mobility for people in Naryn Province.
National Trade Corridor Highway Investment Program, Tranche 3 The program is helping Pakistan improve highways along its national trade corridor, which handles the bulk of the country's freight movements and provides a gateway to Afghanistan and Central Asia. Tranche 3 funds a 19-kilometer expressway between Sarai Saleh and Havelian in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
Second Road Network Development Program, Tranche 2 The project will finance construction of new motorway between Jalilabad and Shorsulu and provide capacity development. Tranche 2 aims to develop Jalilabad to Shorsulu motorway section and provide sector capacity development.
Western Regional Road Corridor Development Program, Tranche 2 The program supports the development of a transport corridor that links Mongolia to the Russian Federation in the north and People's Republic of China in the south. Tranche 2 of the program includes 103.9 kilometers of paved road between Khovd and Khashaatin Davaa pass, two bridges and urban roads in Khovd, a road maintenance center, and capacity development.
National Trade Corridor Highway Investment Program, Tranche 2 The project will develop the Hasanabdal–Havellian Expressway to link the northern area of the country to the existing expressway network and lead to better connectivity with Afghanistan, the People’s Republic of China, and other central Asian countries.
Road Network Development Program, Tranche 4 The project will reconstruct four bridges and rehabilitate 30 kilometers of local roads in the Ganja-Qazax region. All four bridges are in a very poor, nearly no longer maintainable condition.
Olzha Loan Extension The project extends a secured loan to JSC Olzha, a private operator of freight wagons in Kazakhstan, to acquire new freight railcars and one shunting locomotive.
CAREC Corridor 3 (Bishkek-Osh Road) Improvement Project, Phase 4 The project will rehabilitate 52.5 kilometers (km) of road from Bishkek to Kara Balta and 67 km of road from from Madaniyat to Jalalabad. It will improve road safety and road maintenance, and boost trade in a key regional economic corridor.
CAREC Corridors 3 and 5 Enhancement Project The project will improve road conditions and road safety on the 88-kilometer (km) Sayron-Karamyk section of CAREC corridors 3 and 5, and the 87-km Vose-Khovaling road. It will also upgrade feeder roads to rural communities, and build solar energy and other public facilities.
Transport Network Development Investment Program, Tranche 3 The project provides an alternative north-south transit route from Mazar-e-Sharif to Kabul. It will also provide community infrastructure through better sanitation facilities.
