National Workshop on Authorized Economic Operators Program for Kazakhstan
International experts and customs officials in Kazakhstan discussed the basic principles of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, how to implement the program, and World Customs Organization standards on securing and facilitating a trade framework.
The workshop was supported by the CAREC regional technical assistance on aligning customs trade facilitation measures with best practices, funded by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction.
The technical assistance will simplify and harmonize clearance procedures at border crossing points in CAREC countries.
Customs officials from the People’s Republic of China and Republic of Korea also shared their AEO implementation experience.
