CAREC High-Level Session at the 53rd ADB Annual General Meeting

Ministers and senior government officials of CAREC countries joined a high-level session at the 53rd Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual General Meeting to discuss the potential role of regional cooperation platforms such as CAREC in building countries resilience to future crisis after COVID-19, drawing on lessons learned from the historical Silk Road.

Acting Minister of Finance and ADB Governor for Afghanistan Hadi Arghandiwa delivered the opening remarks. ADB Vice-President Shixin Chen welcomed participants to the session. ADB Central and West Asia Department (CWRD) Director General Werner Liepach and ADB East Asia Department (EARD) Director General James Patrick Lynch gave introductory and closing remarks, respectively.
