Undertaking prefeasibility studies on priority projects for the STKEC development is a key output of TA 9630. These include prefeasibility studies on the establishment of (i) an International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (ICTEC) and (ii) a Trade and Logistics Center (TLC) in Sugd Oblast of Tajikistan. The ICTEC and TLC in Sugd oblast are complex and large projects with similar focus areas, which involve many aspects of cross-border economic cooperation, such as integrated border management, cross-border cooperation on transport, trade and logistics, customs, and wholesale market development. They involve extensive background and demand analysis covering a wide range of areas and themes. A firm will be engaged to undertake the said prefeasibility studies. In addition, the consultant will facilitate dissemination of the findings of the prefeasibility studies and provide training to government officials and other stakeholders in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in related thematic areas.
