More than 50 officials and representatives from central and local customs agencies and line ministries, as well as the private sector, attended the workshop.
Representatives from the World Customs Organization (WCO) shared knowledge and best practices on Time Release Study (TRS).
TRS provides a snapshot of the effectiveness of customs administrative procedures and measures the actual time it takes to release goods after arrival.
TRS informs the design of investments at border-crossing points, helps interpret trade-related data compiled by national single-window facilities, and provides a useful point of reference in analyzing CAREC Corridor Performance Measurement and Monitoring data submissions and reports.
Participants also visited the Astana Customs Clearance Center and were briefed on customs procedures.
