At the 11th Ministerial Conference, CAREC ministers agreed to establish a physical base for the CAREC Institute to perform its role effectively as a knowledge resource center.
As one of the operational priorities of CAREC 2020, the CAREC Institute was envisioned to play a key role in addressing the specific needs of the priority sectors: transport, trade facilitation, energy, and trade policy.
The CAREC Institute is mandated to work directly with sector coordinating committees.
